I recently learnt of a wonderful story of how the Pigface growing on Middle island and around our foreshore area came about.  A community minded local who had a love of the sea and was passionate in caring for our foreshore area 'acquired' some  pigface and planted it around the area.  It turns out he 'acquired' said pigface cutting from Johnsons Garage- which belonged to my grandfather at the time- and they were also good friends!  A recent commission bought this lovely family connection to my attention and I just love everything about it.
